OBJECTIVE

My principal unifying goal as a software developer and tech writer is to make technology more accessible and easier to use. I’ve manifested it by pursuing projects, building tools, and writing content that caters to people from various backgrounds (tech and non-tech), skill levels, and neurotypes.

I believe in writing clear, self-documenting code. However, because I understand it isn’t always enough to let the code speak for itself, I also believe it’s important that all software should be well-annotated and accompanied by comprehensive, well-written documentation.

Creating usage guides, API documentation, and managing knowledge bases aren’t tasks that most software developers are equipped to perform. But they’re vital aspects of the software’s life-cycle and existence, and functions that I, as a technical writer, very much enjoy practicing.

My extensive background as a developer allows me to easily untangle the technical nuances of software and IT so I can effectively translate and communicate them to other developers and end users.

Additionally, I’ve worked (in short bursts) as a technical support agent, which has further enriched my perspective and capabilities as a technical writer and content writer. It taught me to address challenges and communicate their resolutions from diverse viewpoints.

While it may seem counterintuitive, freelancing and working as a technical writer have also made me a better software developer. Because I’ve reviewed and worked with such a wide array of tools and frameworks, I can easily identify the best stack to meet a project or company’s requirements.

Whether as a developer, technical assistant, data analyst, support specialist, technical writer, or editor, I’m looking to collaborate with a company that can help me leverage my considerable experience and skill to help smooth people’s tech journeys and experiences.

WORK EXPERIENCE

February 2022 – Current:
Technical Writer | Draft.Dev

As a technical writer for Draft.Dev, my responsibilities include crafting high-quality 1500+ word technical articles for a wide variety of established clients in the software and tech Industry. I’ve written tutorials, roundups (listicles), reviews, and guides designed to showcase the capabilities of our clients’ products. In addition to written content, I’m also responsible for drafting architecture diagrams, capturing and annotating screenshots and video content, building software implementations, and producing code samples. I also edit and refine other writers’ articles when required. Some notable clients I’ve written for include Bright Data, Snyk, Foxit, and Hygraph.

September 2020 – July 2025:
Technical Writer | WellPCB and OurPCB

My responsibilities as a part-time writer for WellPCB (and its sister companies) included creating and editing search engine-optimized (SEO) electronic engineering guides and blog articles. I was also tasked with enhancing the quality of published articles in addition to creating new evergreen content. Initially, a large bulk of the content I worked on revolved around printed circuit boards (PCBs) and their fabrication. However, as WellPCB’s services expanded, their content evolved to include broader topics such as wire harnesses, enclosures, and additive manufacturing – which are all topics I covered during my stint.

February 2014 – Current:
Freelancer | Self-Employed

After leaving my position as a software developer and analyst at Corefreight, I began freelancing as a programmer, blogger, and tech writer. While a large portion of my time was dedicated to creating search engine-optimized technical content, I also worked on a wide variety of short programming projects and network administrative tasks.

As a copywriter and content writer, I covered topics that ranged from programming to gaming. Notable works and clients include two white papers for Hitachi, a collection of articles for SPW centered around data retention and IT recycling, B2B content for BlueTree, and Cloud Infrastructure Services. Please visit my portfolio to see more examples of my work.

June 2010 – April 2013:
Mid-level System Analyst and Programmer | CoreFreight Systems

My primary responsibilities included software development and programming, as well as the modification, installation, and maintenance of CoreFreight’s logistics software.

My other duties involved cooperating with and supporting personnel in the resolution of user problems, including the provision of Helpdesk and infrastructure support. This included running application and database backups, and remote and on-site software installations. Tools and applications used included Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Forte 4GL, Java (SE and EE), Maven, NetBeans, and Visual Studio. As I reached seniority in the company, I became involved with onboarding and mentoring new talent.
